Hi Coaches,
My name is Zach Wheeler a Senior at Bedford High School in New Hampshire. I am really passionate about the game of golf and am looking forward to playing golf throughout the rest of high school and collegiate levels. I started my love of the game when I was very young (around age 5) and loved to go out with my Dad. After taking on different sports, I took a break but rediscovered my passion for golf in the 6th grade. I started out with some camps, but since then, I have made golf one of the top priorities in my life (alongside school) and have been determined to become one of the best. I have been golfing all around the country, and am an avid "Course Rat" at a local country club. I played on my Middle School team in 8th grade and made my Varsity Golf Team as a Freshman in high school. During the high school season, I was one of just 3 freshman to qualify to play matches. Since, I have been a valuable asset to the team as a starter and team captain for the upcoming Fall Season. Last season (my Junior year), my team and I won our second straight State Championship in which I continued onto the second day finishing 10th in the state overall. I am looking forward to leading my team to (hopefully) another state championship this coming fall. Recently, I have become more involved in larger state tournaments such as: NH State Amateur Championship, NH State Stroke Play Championship, and the NH Junior Championship. These tournaments allow me to compete amongst the best in my state both on the Junior level as well as the Amateur level. I have hit new strides in my game already this year and recently held medalist honors at the State Amateur Qualifier carding a +1 over 72 at Hanover Country Club at Dartmouth. Most recently, I competed in the NHGA Junior Championship. There, I held solo 8th place in the 1st Round of Stroke Play carding a +6 76 (+6 on the front nine, even par on the back nine). From there, I proceeded to win my match in the Championship Flight of round of 16 and advance to the quarterfinals playing the number one seed. As for dreams of mine, I would really like to stay in the business of golf, and work in the field of golf management. With my hard work, determination and will to be one of the best, I feel that playing collegiate golf would be a great fit for me and my future to come.
