Devin Schobert '26 Recruiting Profile

I always thought my dream was to play hockey in college, it was a dream of mine and there was no doubt that I was going to work hard to make that happen.  I always loved playing golf with my dad, but I never truly understood the game until I started getting clubs from my dad and he explained to me the difference that they make and how they make the game of golf all come together.  I started out playing on weekends with my dad, then I asked him to take me to the local golf dome so I could get some lessons...before you knew it, we were digging a hole in our front yard with a flag that showed hole number 1.  I've committed myself to practicing at the golf course every day, I don't always play 9 or 18 holes...some days I just focus on the range and what I can do better when I hit the ball.  I fell in love with a sport that I never imagined I would even care about, but it's changed me and my attitude and my demeanor and it's actually made me a better person.  I work harder in school because I want to succeed, school didn't come easy for me, but golf wanted me to work that much harder and my grades are the best they've ever been. I want to play golf in college, I want to show my mom and my dad that this one sport made me who the person I am today.
