DriverMy name is Dexter James, a junior at Hudson High School in Hudson, OH, and a committed elite golfer. My golf journey started just after my first steps at the age of 2. It has always been a passion of mine to advance my talents in the game of golf, grind, and improve both as a golfer and as a person.
During my golf career, I have earned many titles and accolades including the following:
2025 State Qualifier (individual), Shot 79 and 75 to rank T28
2025: All Ohio Surburban League 1st Team All-Conference
2025: Northern Ohio Junior PGA (NOPGA) POY, 74.75 scoring average, 8 Wins, 26 Top-10 finishes
2024: HJGT National POY, NOPGA POY, NOPGA Tour champion 15 Wins, 28 Top-10 finishes
2023: NOPGA POY, 8 Wins, 32 Top-10 finishes, USKG New York State Champion
2022: 4 Wins, 39 Top-10 finishes
2021: NOPGA POY, NOPGA Tour champion, 14 Wins, 61 Top-10 finishes
2020: 8 Tournament Wins
2019: NOPGA POY, 16 Wins
6-Time US Kids Cleveland Tour Champion & 6-time World Championship Participant
5-time (record holder) NOPGA All-Time POY
86 Total Career Wins
Currently, I am on a very steep upward trajectory. As of August 2, 2025, my BlueGolf index is -0.4, and my Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) differential is a 1.97. However, for the last 12 tournaments, my differential is a 0.7, featuring multiple scores below par (see below). My decreased differential reflects not only growth in my game, but also physical growth. Just last year, I struggled to hit the ball 220 yards off the tee. I was 5’2” and weighed 115 lbs. Currently, my height is 5’10”, and my weight is 155 lbs. I have also improved my average tee shot distance to 280-300+ yards. As a result, I now have the ability to consistently drop below par on courses over 6700 yards.
When I’m not doing schoolwork or practicing my craft, I like to grab a Boba tea with friends, and stay active. Although I do not have any consistent hobbies, whether I’m playing board games, tennis, video games or other sports, I strive to master everything - and tend to be very competitive. I am always focused on winning. However, losing doesn’t settle well with me.
I am scheduled to play 6 golf tournaments over the next 4 months. My tournament schedule is listed under the events section of NCSA. I plan to visit college campuses and narrow my search to 3 schools by May 2026. It would be great to connect with you after my round on Friday or Saturday if possible.
I can be reached via my cell number at 330-813-8668, or by email at [email protected]. Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear back from you soon.
