Personal Statement

I grew up in a small city in Ontario called Guelph. I was raised on hockey and soccer, ever since the young age of 6, I was playing AA hockey during the winter and travel soccer during the summer.  I learned many valuable lessons from these team sports that I have brought along with me into my love for golf. For example goal-setting, initiative, fair play, and the proper attitude.

I first started golfing when I was 14, and it was always that one-shot that kept me coming back the next day. Then that one shot started to happen more and more each time I played, and I fell in love with the game. I was fortunate to start playing competitive tournaments in 2021 which I am very thankful for. The emotions, pressure, and challenges that I encounter during a tournament are what I strive for. I have effectively kept myself at a 3.3 GPA throughout my busy golf schedule. I work two part-time jobs so I am able to contribute some of what I earn towards golf.

Golf is a sport of confidence, honesty, and patience. It has taught me to practice these traits in my everyday life. I have more confidence in myself and I know that I will succeed. I am honest even when the truth hurts. I am patient with those around me no matter how annoyed I may be. My name is Peter Wojcicki, and golf is my passion. My goal is to continue my love and aspirations for golf at a competitive college level. I would be a huge addition to your golf team in many different ways. For example leadership, the correct attitude, and always giving it 110%. All while posting scores, and most importantly being a well-rounded representative of your school. My goal is to acquire a proper education that allows me to learn about professional golf management and business adminastration.

  • Camp/Event
  • Ofsaa Championship (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association)
  • 10/11/22 to 10/13/22
  • Tough first day with a 82, had 2 triples that killed my round. Other than that I was on point and having a great day. Day 2 I bounced back to myself and grabbed a 75. 157 for the week puts me in at 12th of 120. Best players from Ontario are in this high school event.
  • Camp/Event
  • Cwossa Championship (Central Western Ontario Secondary School Association)
  • 10/05/22 to 10/05/22
  • Par 72, our 3 man team had a total of 215 strokes with the scores of 69,72,74. I contributed with the 74. We are now heading to high school provincials (Ofsaa) which is the largest tournament for high school golf.
  • Camp/Event
  • Division 10 Championship
  • 9/28/22 to 9/28/22
  • Back to back division 10 champions. Moving onto Cwossa. Our team of 3 battled through a cold and windy day. Team scores: 68,72,73 total of 213 at even par. I contributed with the 73.
  • Camp/Event
  • MJT G&G Brands Classic
  • 8/20/22 to 8/21/22
  • Came out strong the first day on the front nine and carried it onto the back nine until 17 and 18. Two doubles to finish 5 over on the day with a 77. Second day started off strong again had 6 pars and 1 bogey going into hole 8 and 9 and made two doubles again and finished the 9 at 5 over. Right after I finished out the nine I thought to myself “We still have 9 holes to play, lots of time to turn it around” Which is exactly what I did. I then brought my round back with a 1 under 34 back 9 finish with a 76. 153 two day score placing me in 4th for the weekend.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2022 MJT - Team TaylorMade Championship at The Club at Bond Head
  • 8/06/22 to 8/07/22
  • Day 1 I put together a 73 +1, placing my tee shots in the fairway and giving myself 2 putts on almost every hole for par. Day 2 was windy and rainy unfortunately, battled through it and posted an unfortunate 82. Once again placing myself in the fairway, just couldn’t dial in my 5 footers when I needed them. Two day score of 155 placing 4th. A lot of good takeaways from this major.
  • Camp/Event
  • Victoria Park East Club Championship
  • 7/30/22 to 8/01/22
  • my first day was pretty solid starting off with a 77, just needed to dial in my putts inside 10 feet. Felt confident going into the second starting off strong with a good par on one and it went downhill from hole 2 to hole 7. All I need to say is I was 11 over in the span of those 6 holes. Anyways, I got up to the next tee and said to myself why give up now? Lots of golf to be played. From hole 8 to hole 18 I was 2 under bogey free. Couldn’t have been more proud of myself for sticking in it and throwing that 80 together. Going into the final day I was ready to take over. Had a good front nine 38 +2, and held onto that confidence. Came into the club house with a 75 Top 5 finish. Most enjoyable 3 days of golf I have ever played other then those 6 holes on the second day.
  • Camp/Event
  • MJT Summer Classic
  • 7/18/22 to 7/19/22
  • Finished my tournament with a total of 168, unfortunately couldn’t bare down on the last 3 holes both days which ruined my scores.
  • Camp/Event
  • MJT Ontario Series
  • 7/10/22 to 7/11/22
  • Had a solid first day by throwing up a score of 76. Couldn’t repeat that the second day unfortunately by following with a 83. All around good couple days and took a lot of positives from this tournament. 5th place.
  • Camp/Event
  • Ontario Junior (U19) Boys Championship
  • 7/06/22 to 7/08/22
  • 4 day event with a cut after 36 holes. 156 players, and 60 players will remain after the cut. All the best junior boys in Ontario try and qualify for this tournament each year. Top 30 qualify for the Canadian Junior Boys Championship. Did not perform how I wanted by having a two day score of 169. Had lots of fun and learnt a lot about myself. Only my second year playing competitively and I earned my self a spot in the biggest junior event in Ontario.
  • Camp/Event
  • MJT Humber College PGM Classic
  • 6/11/22 to 6/12/22
  • Battled through wet and windy conditions, taking a solo 15th. Just couldn’t get the birdies to drop.
