Personal Statement
My name is Nicholas Nautiyal and I am a golfer in the 2021 class. I am a very hard worker and am very passionate about golf. I am dedicated to becoming a better golfer and my game has already grown in the past year. I have worked on my game extensively over the winter and was able to add considerable distance to my game which now complements my short game. With the new distance, I am consistently going under par and have shot more than 15 tournament rounds under par this year.
Academically, I always challenge myself by taking the toughest classes my school offers and am on the accelerated math program. I have taken the SAT once and received a 1560. I am planning on taking my pre-med pre-requisites in college and applying to medical school.
I have played my best golf this season, winning multiple tournaments including a 36 hole major tournament for Oregon Junior golf (69-73) and a 36 hole Future Champions Golf Tournament (73-70). This ranked me 4th in Oregon junior golfers which would usually entail a spot on Team Oregon for the historic Hogan Cup. Unfortunately, the Hogan Cup was canceled but, nonetheless, I am proud of my season and my game in general.
Golf has also helped me become a better leader. I am the captain of my 3A golf team and lead my team to a state championship in my first year as captain as a sophomore. I love working with my teammates and helping them overcome issues with their own game.
