My name is Solomon Ness I am 17 years old from Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada. I am a hard-working and motivated student and player on the course and in the classroom. I am a team player and throughout my years I have been on high-level team sports, and I know what it takes to play at a college level. Playing college golf has always been a goal for me and I’ve been putting a lot of additional time and effort to get better and better.
I got into golf around 12 years of age, and I started taking it serious when I turned 15 and ever since I have been consistently lowering my tournament scores.
I have entered my senior year of high school (2024) and I have maintained a high level of competitive golf in 2023 with excellent results. In June I placed first at the MJT in Deer Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada. Also, I earned a spot on the 2023 North American Indigenous Games Team (July 13-23, 2023 where I placed 2nd place with a silver medal), placed first in the Notah Begay Regional Championship which provided a trip to the National Championship in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in August 2023 where I placed 9th overall. Most recently in early September of 2023, my high school (Centennial Collegiate) won the provincial championship where I lead the team to the 2023 win.
With my tournament average of 76 and a handicap of 1.4 I have hopes of taking my game to an even higher level. In each of the last two years I have improved by 3+ strokes and my short game along with my driving remains the strongest part of my game. With my putting, I continue to work consistently with my professional coach to bring me up to the next level of my golf game.If chosen, I will continue to better my scores and show my leadership and sportsmanship by cheering on my teammates.
My academic goals are to start in kinesiology then working towards Chiropractic Medicine. To view my 2023 results, swing videos, and related items go to @solomon_golfs.
