Before starting golf, there was no hobby, routine, or passion that I had. I needed something to do, and something that I could feel proud of myself for, decent grades weren’t cutting it, also tests aren't fun anyways. It took a lot of things to lead me to golf, but I found it.
Something I have noticed among my opponents on the STPGA tour and other tournaments, is that almost all of them, have been playing most of their lives, and attend a school with plenty of funding for the sport. I have neither of those advantages. I am starting my second year after playing golf for the first time, and I feel like I have the talent, passion, commitment, competitiveness, and drive that my opponents don’t, and that colleges are looking for. Competing at the collegiate level would be a dream, and I think that shooting in the 70s after just over a year of playing should be interesting to lots of college coaches in this country.
I would love to start building relationships with coaches now as I show more and more impressive scores in tournaments this summer.
