William Wilder '13 Recruiting Profile

I am William Wilder, a a student athelete in the class of 2013 at Henderson High School.  When choosing a college, my three most important decision-making factors are:  1.  the ability to improve my golf game, 2. get a degree, 3. be a contributing player on a championship team.

My passion for the game of golf started when I was around four years old, and it has grown stronger ever since.  Since I was seven, I have been competing in junior tournaments, in and out of Texas, including AJGA, Legends Junior Tour, Texas Junior Golf Tour, and high school golf. 

In the past year, I have had six rounds under par, three of those were in the 60s and on challenging courses.  My best round was 4 under par.  Currently, my stroke average is 74, based on twelve competetive rounds so far. I am ranked 16th in the class of 2013 in Texas in 52nd overall in the State by Golfweek. Also, I have made First Team All-State in 3A high school golf in Texas for the past two years.  

Academically, I am a good student and take AP academic classes and dual credit college courses at Kilgore College.  I am in the top 10% of my graduating class, ranked 14th out of 197. 

I have always worked hard to achieve my goals, whether it's on the golf course or in the classroom. My goal is to compete at the collegiate level, beginning in Fall of 2013, as a scholarship player, receving the amount of scholarship I deserve based on my abilities.
