Personal Statement

I have dreamed about playing college golf since I was in 7th grade.  Golf is my passion.  It is what I enjoy doing more than anything in the world.  I strive to work hard and become the best that I can be and I will never give up.  Having a tough day on the course only pushes me to work harder.  It is very important to me to have teammates and coaches that I can be close and connect with.  I want to study law and become a lawyer one day, but I also want to pursue becoming a professional golfer after college.

  • We were supposed to have a 36 hole tournament but it rained all day Tuesday so we got 9 holes in that day. Played 18 the next day. The scores were very strong at this tournament and I shot +3 coming in tied at 40/105.

  • It poured all day on us the first day and it was freezing but I made it through. We had a great day for round 2 but I could not get any putts to fall. This was my first experience with these types of greens in Oklahoma. I shot 77/80 and finished 51st out of 64.

  • The wind on this course is always a challenge. With gusts up to 30mph the first day I shot 79 and 75 for round 2. I missed qualifying as a medalist for State by 2 strokes. I received 1st team All-Region team and tied 9th out of 95.

  • I shot 77 the first day and was not happy about it. I practiced longer the next warmup and shot 70 the 2nd round winning 1st place out of 44.

  • Tempest is my favorite course to play but it is a very challenging course. We were supposed to play our district tournament on the 25th. We waited all day for rain to pass and ended up playing 36 holes on day 2. I shot 74/79 and ended up tied for 2nd out of 66 and advanced as first medalist to regionals.

  • I shot 77 round 1. I had been having some low back pain for about a month and I was hitting out of a high bunker and my low back locked up. I tried to continue playing but lost about a box of balls because I couldn’t turn all the way thru my swing. I had to withdraw during the round. I did about 2 months of therapy with my chiropractor and got my back straightened out and haven’t had any issues since.
