Personal Statement

I played 2 years of collegiate golf at The University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Nice school with quality practice facilities, good home course and quality education. I'm looking for a fresh start both athletically and academically at a new school especially coming off of a major swing change that has already shown immediate improvement in my ball striking and consistency. I'm ready to put it in action and help make an impact and contribute to the team. I'm hardworking and I carry myself professionally on the course.

I am also attending school on my dad's 911/GI Bill. I require none/minimal scholarship money.

Day 1 - 8 out of 13 fairways, 13 GIR, 1 three putt to shoot 1 over 72. Day 2 - 8 out of 13 fairways, 13 GIR, 1 three putt and 1 OB to shoot 73 and finished 2nd place individual. Led my team to a 2nd place finish for first time this season. I put a new putter into play this week. Rolled the ball well but left 5 putts on day 2 in the mouth and a ball short. Will continue working on getting the speed down before my next tournament.

Day 1 at Lighthouse Golf Course - 8 out 14 fairways, 7 GIR, 2 double bogeys, two 3 putts for a 77. Most missed greens were just around the fringe and grinded well through the round. Day 2 at Hidden Falls - 8 out of 14 fairways, 14 GIR, 3 OB and 2 on the same hole. Took an 8 on the par 4 number 1 hole and shot 1 over 37 on the front. Finished with a 76 but 6 strokes were from OB which was by 2 yards total.

Course rating 75.3 - Shot 73 day 1. 2 under par on the front but a double on the back side kept me out of the red. 27 putts with 1 3 putt (double). Day 2 shot 75. Drivers was a little off all day but was even par with 2 holes to go. Number 17 par 3 playing 252 yards into a strong cross wind. Hit first ball 1 foot OB and double the hole by hitting green on 2nd shot. Bogey on 18 to shot 3 over and 4 over for the tournament. Finished T14 out of 91 players.

Played 36 holes day 1 and 18 day 2. My tee shoot was up to my usual standards but I managed to shot 75, 79, 74. Scrambled pretty well but the 79 round had 2 doubles and a tripled due to errand tee shots. Hit my 3 wood majority of the day on the third round and managed to shot 2 over.

Late notification I was elevated from the waitlist to the tournament field. Course plays 7,045 yards. 1st time playing this course. Day 1 - only missed 1 fairway and hit 13 GIR. Up and downs and 2 three putts kept me from shooting under. Finished with 76. Day 2 - was very windy. Missed 2 fairways, 1 by a foot and hit the same fairway bunker as day 1. Hit 14 GIR but had 3 three putts. Shot 75.

36 holes of stroke play on day 1. Top 16 advance to match play on day 2 and 3. Day 1 - Round 1 - short game was a little off during round 1 and two unfortunate swings cost me 5 strokes to shoot 82. 2nd round - tightened up the short game and was up and down 8 of 12 times with only 24 putts. 1 errand approach on hole 9 cost me 2 strokes but ended up shooting 76.

TJGT Valaar Creek Summer Classic

Day 1 - played course without a practice round which was costly. Started slow but turned it around through the middle of the round, 1 under from hole 7 thru 16 , but double 17 and 18 to shot my first 80s round since March. Day 2 - changed my approach and several holes and despite 2 early 3 putts, shot 2 under on back 9 to card a 1 over 73 . Fought hard day 2 and worked my way to a top 10 finished. Hit 12 of 14 Fairways and 12 of 18 greens.

TJGT Summer Classic
7/19/21 to 7/20/21
Course (except Greens) hadn't been mowed due to amount of rain over the past month. Fairways were as high as some rough and roughs looked like US Open. Every tee shot would plug and several players actually lost golf balls in the middle of the fairway. 3 late bogeys on day 1 had me a 3 over but in 2nd place. I was tied for the lead at the turn on day 2 but 4 bogeys on the back side had me finish 3 shots back with a 78. Tough controlling distances as there were a lot f flier lies and wedges around the ground you couldn't stop. All in all, great learning experience.

Day 1 - 7 /14 FW, 11/18 GIR and dropped 3 late shots to shoot 76. Had a great range sessions afterwards and figured out a few minor issues. DAY 2 - 13/14 FWs. 16/18 GIR, 1 3 putt bogey to shoot 2 under 70. Number one qualifier for REGIONALS in Georgia.

Day 1 - 17 pars (most ever in 1 round) with 1 bogey. Missed a few birdie opportunities but rolled the ball well. 7 for 7 in up and downs and 29 putts. Day 2 was much of the same as day 1 but the putter let me down. 11 of 13 FW, 11 of 18 Greens , 1 OB and 35 putts to shoot 78.

6847 yards 72.8 (73.8 adjusted) course rating - 1st time ever playing this course and with no practice round. Feb tournament only 1 player under par and course rating adjuster to 76.5. Several friends are members here and advised driving is extremely difficult to keep ball in play. Ob left and right on many holes. I had my best driving day this year hitting 12 of 14 fairways and 1 of the 2 missed fairways I hit my line perfectly and had a shot into the green. Greens were very small and my iron play wasn't as strong as it has been lately. Short sided myself to many times and shot 7 over 79. Tournament rained out day 2.

The Texas Masters - IMG World Qualifier

Day 1 - 1 eagle, 3 birdies and 4 bogeys to shoot 1 under 70. Day 2 - slow start couple with an OB tee shot on the 9th hole to shoot 39. 1 hour and half weather delay after the OB tee shot. After weather, shot 32 on back 9 despite two missed 6 footer to finish even par 71. My lowest 2 day total to date (141). Day 3 - unfortunate bounce on hole 4 cost me a double. Worse putting day of the tournament to shoot 78.

Par 72 - 6,928 slope 150 - shot 71 day 1 and was T2 going into day 2. Birdie on hole 2 pulled me even with the leaders. Doubled forth when fairway bunker approached cleared the green into the back hazard. Played solid until the 15th hole when my approach shot hit the green but rolled 1 yard to long and trickled down a large slope. Lost 6 shots on the last 4 holes to finished T11. Lots of lessons learned on the 2nd round which will help me moving forward.

Prestige Junior Tour - Spring Break Classic

Par 70 - 6,627 yards 1st individual tournament in over 3 months. 62% fairways, 72% green in regulation, 3 penalty strokes (unplayable ball), 3 three putts to shoot 72,73 (+5). Wedge wasn't as sharpe as usual but overall a lot of positives to take away as I prepare for the Traditions this weekend.

Took a 2 month break to work in a new power move which I gained about 20 yards on my driver and 15 yards on my irons. Day 1 - Extremely Cold, rainy and windy conditions. Struck the ball well but short sided myself all day which resulted in an 84. Regrouped on Day 2 - trusted the new swing and had 4 birdies, 8 Fairways (misses only a yard or 2), 10 GIR to shoot 73.

Day 1 at Lakecliff - 6,724 yards and bent grass greens were running pretty fast. Went out in 33 and back in in 36. Doubled 10 due to approach shot to long and only blemish on the card. Shot 1 under last 8 holes to secure my first 69. Day 2 - Hidden Falls - we switched courses for day 2 and Hidden Falls had overseeded with Rye. Greens were extremely slow and difficult to putt. I hit 12 of 14 Fairways and 14 of 18 greens but had 37 putts. 1st 30+ putting round in over 2 months. Finished with 77 for a 146 total and 3rd place out of 88.

Course played 6,573 - Windy and extremely tight in areas. Figured out an alignment issue on day 2 and had it at 2 under thru 15 but bogey on 16 and 18 to shot even par. 78-72 = 150 to finish 14 out of 43.
