I have always dreamt of becoming a PGA tour player. Golf has given me joy and a sense of purpose since I began as a child, and the enthusiasm and passion I had then continues to carry on to present day. I have competed in over 4 world championships , Drive Chip and Putt Nationals at Augusta , Various State and Regionals and also competed for my high school team. In the past week alone, I have won two tournaments with scores of 71 and 75. In my recent first tournament as a freshman I won the JV Plano invitational for North Texas. I've also been telecasted on Golf Channel multiple times for making it to the Nationals for Drive, Chip and Putt in Augusta , also highlighting writing a book centered around golf.
In my 14 year journey of playing, golf has taught me a variety of valuable experiences- It's taught me how to fail and get up , it's taught me that losing and winning is temporary and, in the end, what lasts is the experience and the lessons you learn from it, it's taught me the grit and determination to pursue challenges when things are not in your favor. In addition to my passion of golf, my other hobbies include reading and programming . From an early age, I've worked to master the Scratch program created by MIT, the HTML language, and robotics; I've also dedicated myself to volunteering at a library for an organization confounded by my sister and myself (KidsCanKode) to educate kids to code. I also work my hardest in academics and have maintained good grades with recognition from my teachers throughout my school life.
I value being a team player, exemplified by my active participation in team sports: I swam for a swim team for over 5 years before dedicating my full time and attention to golf, and have played basketball for over 7 years. I love being in a team setting at high school practice and games, and bring a sense of camaraderie to my team.
I am hardworking, respectful, driven and have an unquenchable thirst to learn; Golf is a game of consistent improvement and I continuously strive to better my game and myself. As a freshman, I had a 4 handicap and multiple under Par rounds in Championships under my belt . My swingspeed as a freshman was 94 but I worked hard and as of today swinging at 116 mph . I give the credit to my hard work and discipline putting in 2 hours a day just to improve my swing speed .
I would love for you to give me an opportunity to give my all and excel as an athlete at your prestigious college.
