Dane Byers '25 Recruiting Profile

When I was young I would go to the local driving range with my family and loved hitting my junior sized driver. I have grown up around golf and have been playing my whole life. I've always loved the game and started my competitive career as a Freshman at Bainbridge High School and qualified for the 3A State Tournament in my first year. I've played competitive team sports all of my life (soccer and basketball) but my experience playing team golf is the most fun and rewarding team sporting experience I've been a part of. I've always aspired to play at the highest levels of golf and playing golf in college is a lifelong goal of mine. 

I love to play and practice! Seven days a week you will find me on the course, at the driving range, or in the simulators at our local course. Not even the cold, wet and gloom of a Pacific Northwest winter can keep me from working on my game constantly. The amount of work I put in contributes to my consistent ball striking and ever increasing length of the tee. I'm a true student of the game, always studying my own swing and looking for ways to constantly improve my mechanics and my approach to the game.

My current competitive golf schedule for the '23 season includes a full school golf schedule where I am the Team #1, several Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA) spring tournaments and six+ WJGA summer events. I will also be attending Coach Chris Haack's Georgia Bulldogs Golf Camp in June. I am 100% committed to constantly working on my game and pushing myself competitively in tournament golf. 

Aside from my golf, I am a dedicated student, maintaining a high GPA while taking Honors classes in my Sophomore year. I will continue to push myself academically over the next few years with a planned Honors and AP classload in my Junior and Senior year. I am a member of the National Honor Society, have also been involved in the Social Justice League club at Bainbridge High School and am involved in my local church. Once the school year is out I will also resume my summer job working at the local golf club.

Playing golf in college is a lifelong dream of mine. My passion and drive in achieving this goal will be evident when we meet. Thank you so much for viewing my profile.
