Joshua Willis '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Josh Willis. I am a Junior at Rhinelander High School, I am 5'9 and 142 pounds. I highly doubt you need my speed for golf. This year I am the team captain for the RHS golf team. Last year the team was apart of the Division 1, Wisconsin Valley Conference. Last year as a sophomore I had the lowest scoring average on my team with an average of 81.2. That same year I won the last two conference tournaments. One with a 76 and the last with a 73, the lowest score posted during conference play that year. Last summer, I played in many Junior PGA events. I placed 2nd in two of them and one with a score of 69. I have not always been this good though. Through the past 2 years, I have worked on my golf game day and night to get to where I am today. I started high school golf my freshman year being 3rd on JV. Last year, I was awarded the MVP. I the past 2 years, I have shaved 31 strokes off of my handicap and believe me, I'm not done yet. Last summer I practiced everyday from about 10 in the morning to sometimes 7 o'clock at night, with the dream that one day I will be able to play for a Division 1 school. The college of my choice would be Illinois, not only because of its great golf reputation, but because of the quality of accounting programs. I want a college that is big and that has a good accounting program. It does not matter the religion or division, I am open for any school like I have just described. I plan on majoring in Accounting. I have a lot of fun with it and I'm good at it. My athletic goals for college are I want to make an impact on the team. I believe that I can play with anyone you put me with. I can play at any level you put me at. I believe I CAN make impact and make the team better and I am willing to work to make that happen.
