Colby Mclellan '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello My Name is Colby McLellan I am 17 and live in Calgary AB Canada. I have played hockey for 13 years and have played all positions in hockey. I am a left defenseman. 

I have been a affiliate for the NWCAA U16AA Bruins in 2021/2022 with 8 Games Played and 1Goal.

I played for Bow River Bruins U18 BC2 last year and put up 22 goals, 14 assists, 33 penalties , 38 games played, 0.87 point average per game. 

I was also invited to the Old Grizzly's (Alberta) AJHL. I have made the top 40 2 year's in a row. Coaches have told me I need to be quicker on my feet and to work on foot movement and come back next year. I have been working hard on and off the ice to get better on the information the coaches have provided me based on my skills and what needs to improve. I did some summer camps and practices with the Old Grizzly's this year. Coaches have told me that I have improved lot's since the last time they seen me and ask for me to tryout again next year.  Any training or programs I have done they always give feed back on what we can work on or improve to become better skilled hockey players.

I took sport med in school to learn more about injury's, pain, how to rap injury's and how it effects your body. Learned a lot from this course.

I am also a ambassador for Muscle Check which is a homemade sport & arthritis pain relief ointment. I am the only youth hockey player on the website and also sell the product too. 

I have a passion for hockey and one of my summer jobs are working at Win Sport Calgary AB running camps as a hockey instructor helping kids from the age U9-U15 on getting better on their hockey skills. I really enjoy helping kids out and reach their goals when it comes to hockey. 

I also been working for 2 years at the Scotiabank Saddledome Calgary AB Canada. The Scotibank Saddledome is were we host all kinds of events. NHL(Calgary Flames) WHL(Calgary Hitmen) AHL (Wranglers) Lacrosse ECT. I have meet all kinds of people and hockey players based on my job category of being a employee there. Quite an amazing job.

This year I am playing for Bow River BC 1. The session has just started so am excited to see what the year brings me.
