Hello, I am a 2004 born goaltender from Calgary, Alberta. I intend to secure a camp invitation from your organization. My goal is to attend a college or university and play hockey at a high level. I also plan to study engineering for my future career. Throughout my academic and athletic career, I have always strived to achieve excellence. I am extremely driven to succeed, that drive is what fuels my academic success and hockey skills.
I graduate high school in 2022 and my goal is to play Div. 1 hockey and earn a degree in engineering. I'm looking into different fields in engineering as I have a strong interest in problem solving and finding efficient solutions. I want to pursue this career at some point in my future, but as of now, hockey is my passion. I'm looking for a school with a great engineering program, and a competitive team where I can contribute.
I am a very motivated individual with an excellent work ethic. Due to the fact that I'm a smaller goalie, my play style is very quick and calm. I've learned to read the play and not make excessive movements when I don't have to, which results in calm and controlled game play. I like to be in control of the play, being the eyes of the entire ice. I'm very communicative with my defensemen to make their lives easier and give my team a competitive edge. I'm always positive in the dressing room, and during practice I work hard and compete to make practices more intense and game like.
My on ice strengths include speed, athleticism, communication, puck playing and decision making. Off of the ice I strive to be the best person I can be, academically and socially. I would be more than happy to communicate at any time to see how I might be a fit and offer a strong contribution to your program.
Thank you,
Justin Beland
