It has been a passion of mine to play In the NCAA and then further my career in pro hockey. I am very reliable, and always eager to work hard and improve my game every time I step on the ice, people often comment on my work ethic. I am a very technically sound goalie with very good positioning and recovery. I like to slow the game down and make things look simple, and I am also able to draw on my athletic ability to stop the puck whenever the situation calls for it.
In Junior A I was ranked the top in Canada (Canadian Junior Hockey League) among goalies and played on the 2015 National Hosting and Championship team. I lead Canada for most of that year in wins, save percentage, and goals against. Throughout my hockey Career I have won championships and been to the finals multiple times. I’m the guy that wants and craves to be in the net in game 7. I have had to work hard for everything I have achieved in my life and I take pride in the fact that I strive to be the best I can be at all times on and off the ice. I have been through a lot of adversity in my career including a season ending injury in my last year of junior but it has taught me to never give up on your dreams and with enough hard work things work out. I have grown very mentally tough over the years and I know I have what it takes to be dominant goalie in the NCAA division 1 but just need the opportunity.
I have always been a leader on and off the ice, coming from a family of five and being the oldest It forced me to take a leadership role early in life and I have built that up over the years learning from my Dad who was a pro athlete in football and basketball, a track record holder, and a CIS captain for basketball. I have come before my two brothers who also play hockey, one who is in his NHL draft year playing in the WHL for the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and a little brother who is a stud that is a year away his Bantam Draft and will be a high end pick. My team this year had a leadership board and I was one of four players on it (only first year player). I lead by example with integrity and really focus on being a good teammate on and off the ice, always bringing a positive attitude to the room. I have been recently asked by a local top Junior A team in Ontario to come talk to the players about what it takes to go on a long playoff run and what it takes to win.
In my second year of university I have maintained a 3.0 GPA and believe it will get even higher, I work hard in the classroom just like I do on the ice. I wish to complete my degree in Business Management and either pursue my Masters or go to Law school.
In the past I would volunteer in schools by reading to the children and then talking to them about what it takes to peruse their dreams and to never give up.
It has been my dream to play in the NCAA. I will bring you experience, leadership, and I have showed in the past I am a very good playoff goalie and that I come up big under pressure.
