In my career as a hockey player, since 2010 in my first game in mini-mites, hockey has added competition in my life. It has helped me set high goals, and push myself every single time I am on the ice to be the best player I can be. Throughout my career, I have done a lot. There were ups, like winning 3 tournaments in one season with my team, and downs, like missing half a season with a broken arm, but the best manage to find a way to keep going. I see myself as a leader, not just being a captain for the past 4 years for my teams, but pushing myself and making my teammates want to push themselves as hard as me to give us the best chance of success. This past season, I was lucky enough to be awarded my teams sportsmanship award from my coach. I was ecstatic when I learned that I was to receive the award because the work and class that was shown throughout the season went noticed. While I may not always be the best player on the ice, I strive to be the hardest worker each and every time.
As I push myself on the ice, I also do everything I can off it. As a freshman, I was enrolled in 3 AP and 2 honors classes and kept a high 3 GPA throughout the year. I spent time off the ice starting for my high school golf team. My teammates and I workout at a park 3 times a week, even throughout this pandemic to keep ourselves in shape. When possible, I spend time volunteering at our local YMCA and in the clubs that surround it. In our current organization, the Arizona Hockey Union, I can be found on the ice sometimes with my 12 year old brothers team. I like to support others and help them, as well as trying to keep myself to a high level as well. Thank you for reading. Taking a chance on me would benefit you with a very hard working kid who wants to win and succeed.
