I always want to achieve a high level of success in any activity that I am involved but at the same time, I want to be successful in life. I realize that hockey is an opportunity that will hopefully allow me to reach many of my life goals. I also realize that hard work and dedication will also help lead me to success. As a student and hockey player hard work is one of the major strengths that has allowed me to achieve what I have achieved in my life. I always work hard on the ice as well as in school which has allowed me to attain a certain amount of success in both hockey and school. As a person, I like to lead by example. I am not the most vocal person in the dressing room which means I like to lead by actions; I will skate hard, battle on the board, or dive to stop a puck, whatever it takes to win the battle while not taking unnecessary penelties. This does not mean that I do not have any offense capabilities. One of my strongest attributes is my skating and puck movement. As a defenseman, I feel that this role suits me perfectly in that I'm calm and I don't necessarily have to be the person scoring. I can be the person setting up the scorer, or I can be the person helping the goalie from being scored on. I am confident that given the opportunity I can be a successful student and valuable teammate.
