Jonas Leas '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a fearless, motivated, dedicated and extreme hard worker who is willing to leave everything on the ice and in the classroom to achieve my goal and aspirations - earn an NCAA scholarship. Ever since I atteneded an NCAA game when I was 6 years old, I have been in love with the atmosphere ever since. I'm a natural born leader who plays a 200 foot game who is willing to give everything I have to help my team achieve success. I'm very versatile as I can play all 3 forward positions, but enjoy centre due to my faceoffs and defensive reliability. Although I play solid defensively, I am an explosive player offensively with fast and control  puck handling along with quick speed along  great play making ability. I am willing to give everything I have to achieve my goals and aspirations. I'm a player that plays in big moments, and succeeds expectations, I can relied upon in any moment of the game. I graduate in 2017 and my journey so far to earn a NCAA scholarship has been unique. When I was 13 I moved from my hometown of Whitehorse, Yukon to North Vancouver, British Columbia so I could pursue my hockey dreams. I have also been cut many times form hockey teams, which has given me many lessons which can translate to not hockey but also life, I have become stronger after each time.
