Hockey is the best sport ever created and I just happen to be someone that fell in love with the game. I was born in Puerto Rico and lived five years of my life on the island but there came a time that we had to leave and search for better opportunities. In the states my parents obviously wanted to get me into a sport to keep me active and give me something in return from being part of such a big move. My first thought was that I wanted to play baseball which is the most played sport in Puerto Rico. My parents had a different idea. Walking into an ice rink for the first time at 8 years old and watching all the hockey players practice, it was like love at first sight. Ever since that day all I’ve ever wanted to do was play hockey. I still remember the day that I scored my first goal, I’ll never forget it. Going to Nationals and competing with some of the best teams in the country is an experience that will stay with me forever. The adrenaline that you feel when your team scores a goal to tie the game or to go ahead is a feeling that won't be found somewhere else. Through my youth hockey career I have learned that it takes discipline, teamwork, and perseverance to succeed and to reach your goals, not only in hockey but also in life.
