Brendan Johnson '25 Recruiting Profile

I am a focused and committed student athlete, looking ahead to further my education at the college level while continuing my love of the game of hockey. Growing up originally in Fairbanks (AK where hockey is the state sport), I started playing in the Ice Puppy program at the age of four and have played both hockey and soccer throughout my youth. Upon entering high school, I decided to forego soccer and focus on hockey. I lettered on the varsity hockey team as a freshman and spent the summer continuing my training through a fitness program at the Idaho Fitness Academy, attended camps and participated in a 3 V 3 league along with a weekly skills development program throughout the summer. Now as a Junior, I am in my third with my high school varsity team as well as in my second year with a travel team, currently the Boise Premiere 18U travel team/club. 

Academically, I maintain a GPA of 3.34 while taking challenging classes, including advanced level courses such as accelerated algebra and accelerated chemistry. I am currently enrolled in three AP Courses. I have always wanted to learn a second language. I have been studying high school level Spanish since 7th grade and am currently in AP Spanish. My education is very important to me, and I am looking for a college program that offers strong academics as well as a competitive hockey program. 

I feel I have a good understanding of my strengths and those areas I need to work on in hockey. My coaches describe me as very coachable with a strong hockey sense on the ice. I work very hard, am a good and supportive teammate, and am becoming more of a leader on my high school team. I am taking a leadership role as one of the older and more experienced players on my travel team. I see myself developing substantially over the next three years of my high school career. I will be a strong addition to my college of choice, both athletically and academically.
