Unlike my teammates, I am a late starter in playing Hockey. Learning how to play hockey at soon-to-be 13 was not easy but sharing the most physically and psychologically draining drills with teammates made me fall in love with hockey on the first day. I decided to take the challenge head-on listening to my coaches and skating harder because i knew that it is not how I starts but how I finishes the race.
To spend 4 years in Korea, my parents' home country and travelling to several different parts of the world has perhaps taught me the most important skillset - to embrace diversity and to learn to work with people. Acknowledging differences of each other and learning how to motivate, encourage, drive and applaud one another is what i love about playing hockey.
I set very hard standards on what I do. I have excelled in my academic pursuits and put extra efforts into hockey practices to offset the fact that I started late. Luckily, i have been very fortunate to meet and work with coaches who support my passion for hockey and friends that share the same value in hockey. While i will be the first one to admit that i am not yet one of the seasoned players out there, I certainly feel confident that my potential and talent have been sufficiently demonstrated under the given circumstances and am currently playing as an alternate captain on my team.
As an aspiring player, i am ready to take the next step!
