As a multi-sport athlete, I learned a lot about myself through Track and Field, Baseball, Hockey, Football, and Basketball.
I want to share a pivotal chapter of my journey, one that has shaped my character and forged my determination. As a young athlete, I was unable to secure a spot on my local Travel Rep Hockey or Baseball teams. I had chosen to see these moments as opportunities to refine my skills and build an unshakable work ethic. My hard work and dedication paid off as I made both Hockey and Baseball Travel teams a few seasons later, while also having the honor to be named Assistant Captain and Captain in different seasons.
This is also reflected in my journey through education. I was diagnosed with Central Processing Disorder at age 8. While some may see this as a hindrance, I have come to view it as a unique opportunity to prove that challenges can be turned into success.
Track and field came unexpectedly to me. In grade 9 as I was discussing Basketball with our High School Athletic Director, he asked me what other sports I played. I told him about Hockey and Baseball and that I was a catcher in Baseball. With that, Mr. Hlady thought I would be a good fit as a Thrower for Track and Field, so I decided to give it a try.
During my Inaugural 2022 High School season I kept showing improvement and became very interested in Throws. This motivated me to join the University of Windsor Athletics Club for the 2022 outdoor season. I was very pleased this year with all the accomplishments I made. During the 2023 High School season in shot put, I earned Gold at WECSSAA, SWOSSAA, and Lancer Prep, Bronze at OFSAA West, and Silver at OFSAA. I was also honored with the Track and Field Coaches Award and nominated for the Male Junior Athlete of the year. During my 2023 Track and Field Club season, I exceeded my expectations as I was throwing a heavier weight than in High School and was the younger age in the U18 Men's category. I earned Gold at the Windsor Open, Bronze at the Ontario U14, U16, U18 Championships, and Bronze at the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships.
As I continue to pursue my passion for Track and Field, I am determined to bring the same level of commitment to every practice, every competition, every class, and every opportunity to improve.
