Personal Statement

Hello, I’m Grayson Podey. I’m interested in playing Junior, NCAA or ACHA hockey. I’ve been playing hockey since 2013. I’ve played the past two split seasons with the Tier II Casco Bay Mariners. We were State Champions in fall 2022 and attended the U16 National Championships in Buffalo NY in spring 2023; getting knocked out in the quarter finals. This was my fourth year playing varsity hockey with the Messalonskee Eagles, Messalonskee High School, Oakland, ME.  In 2023 we won the Class B Regional Championship and we were the runners up for the State Championship, losing by just one goal. This year the Messalonskee Eagles once again led the Class B North league regular season. As a senior this year, I tied for 2nd place for all Maine Boys Ice Hockey Classes B Defence with 24 combined points (6 goals, 18 assists). This year I received multiple academic achievement awards and was awarded All Academic and All Star 2nd Team by the Northern Maine Ice Hockey Coaches Association, played in the Senior All Star game and was awarded the Messalonskee High School Ice Hockey Lady Byng Award for Excellence in Ice Hockey. I was awarded the Kennebec Valley Athletic Association's All Conference All Star First Team and the All Academic Award.
