David Johnson '24 Recruiting Profile

For a very long time I have wanted to study medicine and become an Ophthalmologist. I'd love to be able to combine my academic goals with my love for the game of hockey. I am a very good two-way defence-man that is not afraid to get into the dirty areas of the ice. Although I'm small I like to play with a chip on my shoulder. I get along with everyone and coaches tell me that I am a very coachable player because of my great attitude on and off of the ice. I am most known for my speed, agility, playmaking abilities and how I see the ice. I find opportunities where other players do not, I know what to do with the puck before I even touch it. I got two Rookie of The Year awards in a row one was with my U15 AA team and the other was with my most recent team the U17 AAA Interlake Lightning. I have been a valuable asset for every team I play with especially for my most recent team as I had the most points on the back end and had second most power play assists as I was on unit one all year. I achieve very high grades in academics as I place my schooling and education slightly above hockey. I am different from others because I work hard in everything I do and I never give up on anything. I am a Metis citizen that lives in a small town so any opportunity given I will make sure I do not waste it, I will work as hard as I need to achieve my highest goal of playing NCAA hockey. I have a strong work ethic as I compete my hardest at everything. I think I would be a very good asset on a high level team because of how well I work with others,  how hard I work, and how I will not waste an opportunity.
