I am a rising Senior at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood MA. I challenge myself with Accelerated and Honors classes and have maintained High Honor Roll status during my tenure at Xaverian. I play hockey and would like to continue to pursue hockey at the collegiate level. I was an assistant captain as a junior and I am a 3 year letterman on the varsity hockey team and was selected as a forward on the Catholic Conference all star team . I was selected as a Boston globe and Boston herald all scholastic. This season I led our team in scoring with 32 points and pride myself on being a student athlete .
Also, I am the lead on our power play and short-handed line.. I work hard on my game and training off the ice, working out daily, focusing on health and wellness with proper diet, and have become much stronger. I believe I have made significant improvements in my game due to stronger physical strength, using my body when needed in the corners, and being strong-handed with the puck. I am committed to continuing to work on my game, body, and mind so that I can continue to elevate my game to a level that would warrant your consideration.
As a student at Xaverian, I have been an honor roll student all three years, and I am in the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. I am particularly strong in the math and science fields, though I have not yet selected a major.
Outside of school, I believe in sharing what I have received from others. In my community of Weymouth, I have assisted coaching Little League baseball and helped at the Braintree Golf Special Needs Program. In both of these sports, I like to share the skills other have taught me.
Sincerely,
Josh Barton
