Personal Statement
I began playing hockey at the age of 3. I instantly fell in love with the game. My Dad would take me to the Detroit Red Wings games and sometimes we went to the locker room to meet the players. Those were experiences that inspired me to be a great Hockey Player. Being a hockey player has been who I am as long as I can remember. Why am I a unique hockey player? Well, I am a defensemen with elite speed and acceleration, I see the ice well with the ability to think and react quickly under pressure.
However, I realize now I am more than just a hockey player. I am also a good student, friend, teammate, brother and son. Hockey has help shape me into the person I am today. My family, friends, teachers and coaches have all inspired me to be the best person, student and athlete I can be. I enjoy learning many different subjects and plan to major in Business in college while playing the game I love - Hockey! Playing this sport has taught me many things including tolerance of others and leadership. It has also taught me that hard work, preparation and persistence pays big rewards.
