Isaac Cheli '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isaac Cheli, and I am from a small town with a population of 5,000 residents in Northern Michigan called Cheboygan.  Although I live in Cheboygan, I went to school and play hockey at Cranbrook Kingswood College Preparatory High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in the Metro-Detroit area.  I left home at age 14 and started boarding at Cranbrook Kingswood as a freshman to pursue my dream of playing hockey at the junior and collegiate levels.   Leaving my parents at age 14, to go to school and play hockey, has taught me a lot about myself, and has developed me into the person I am today.  My first year at Cranbrook Kingswood was a big transition for me.  I had to learn how to balance hockey and school on my own so that I was at peak performance on the ice, while also maintaining my grades in the classroom.  During my tenure at Cranbrook Kingswood, I have been able to develop as a hockey player but more importantly as a person; gaining life skills that will last forever.   Additionally, Cranbrook Kingwood has taught me how to persevere and to be disciplined especially being in the midst of a national pandemic while finishing my high school career at Cranbrook.  Overall, I am looking for an opportunity to compete at the highest level possible where I can be an asset and contribute positively to a team in reaching their goals. I am very driven and have a strong work ethic. I am coachable, hardworking, team oriented, and often described as a versatile player who contributes in many ways in order to meet the needs and goals of the team.  I feel I would be an asset to any organization who is looking for these types of qualities.  I am very passionate about playing hockey and continuing my hockey career at the junior and collegiate levels.  I am open to opportunities that may present themselves at Tier I and/or Tier II junior levels, and NCAA Division I and/or Division III levels for collegiate play.
