Personal Statement

Hi my name is Dru Wendland and I am a Senior at Flint Powers Catholic High School in Flint, Michigan. I have always had a passion for hockey ever since I first stepped on the ice at the age of 3.
Currently, I play Right Wing for the Powers Varsity hockey team. I work very hard on the ice and work just as hard in school to keep my grades up and during off ice training to get stronger and faster everyday.  My goal is to continue playing hockey after high school at the collegiate level.

  • The camp consist of roughly 25 minutes every session working on skating specific drills including edges, transitions, stride, and cross overs. The remainder of the sessions are centered around puck skills from stick handling to puck protection and deception.

  • We went 1-1-2 . Which was good enought to make it to the semi Finals only to lose in OT. Stats - for the tournment 38 shots 2 goals and 3 assist.

  • 4-1-1 in the tournment. It's always rewarding to come back and beat a team in the finals that we lost to in the round robin. Impressed with the 3rd games determination to get to a +4 and therefore play in the finals.
