Connor Smith '16 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate dream is to play in the NHL. My biggest goal is to play hockey at a collegiate level and receive a quality education at the same time. I know school and education come first before athletics and that I need to strive to do well in class room just as much as I strive to do well on the ice. I am a very coachable player. I strive to be the hardest working person on and off and ice. I try to learn something every time I'm on the ice to make me a better player. Many of my coaches played hockey at a high level and being able to learn from them how to play this game I love has been invaluable. I know I have to trust them and believe what they are telling me is to only help my team improve and help my individual skills improve as well. Hockey is a team sport; I know that it is more important to put the team first instead of myself. I know that if I want to play at a high level of hockey, I have to put in the work. I know I must work hard and pray that the right opportunity presents itself. If that opportunity does in fact present itself, I will be ready to take on the challenge because I have been training hard for that moment.
