tanner balk '14 Recruiting Profile

My goals and aspirations as far as college goes are really focusing on my academics and providing a future for myself with getting a good education. First and foremost i plan on doing the best i can in the classroom and doing whatever it takes to succeed and do well in order to further my education to the best of my abilities. For hockey, I would love to be able to play D1 hockey and take hockey as far as i possibly can. I want to take every opportunity that i get and take advantage of it with hard work and a physical and mental determination in order to succeed and help my team win in any way possible. I feel like a would be a good player for a team because i am dedicated to work hard and do whatever i can to benefit the team and help the team win. I will work as hard as i can to succeed and i feel that i can gel with teammates pretty well, although i may not be the most vocal person at times, i feel as though my actions will be able to speak for me in that i am willing to learn, work, and be a player that has a team first mentality. My character is grounded in my faith in Jesus Christ in that i want to be like Him and i build my character off of what he teaches and the Biblical ideals that he preaches and lived out. I build my life and character off of my God and that is most important to me in my life and i plan on that continuing for the rest of my life. As far as athletics and academics go, I feel as though my character will reflect how I can be a leader on and off the ice with my actions, as i will work hard in the classroom and on the ice and do whatever is asked of me and what i ask of myself in order to succeed and further my education and opportunities on the rink
