Brenden Johnson '25 Recruiting Profile

My biggest goal in my life right now is to get into a good college and play competitive hockey, while also getting a great education. My brother was a D1 baseball pitcher at the University of Mississippi and after seeing him go there, I knew it was my dream to play D1 hockey. When I started looking into prep schools and talking to them, it was at the end of my freshman year so I wasn't expecting much. The first school I talked to in May didn't accept me, but that didn't stop me. During the summer I looked into school and started emailing them. Later that year in August when I started my Sophomore year I still hadn't gotten into a school. I then emailed Tilton School and they offered me a spot for my sophomore year. I flew out moved in and got my prep school career started. Once I got into prep school, I started to talk to my brother about college and how to get recognized by college scouts and coaches. All of this shows how I don't give up when I have a goal in mind and I'm always looking for future opportunities. This year I have improved my academics and my athletics so I can perform in the classroom and on the ice. In school, I'm taking an honors math class along with an AP Language class. I've always been a great leader in the room and out of the room by staying out of trouble, and also keeping others out of trouble.  I'm also great at helping my teammates on the ice with skills and in the classroom I can help with homework and just classwork in general. I know every kid doesn't get to follow their dream of becoming a college athlete but I will do whatever I need to do to get my goal accomplished.
