Josh Kuehmichel '15 Recruiting Profile

I am very passionate about hockey and it has been a life long dream of mine to play hockey at the next level. My hockey career started 14 years ago and I have been a goalie for the past nine years. I have been the starting goalie on the Hopkins Royals High School hockey team since I was a freshman. I have earned All Conference Honors my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. My junior year I was voted team M.V.P. and also voted to be Captain for my senior year. After my senior year ended I was named All Conference for the fourth straight year and was also voted the team M.V.P. for the second year in a row. I was named to the All-Metro Third team my senior year and represented section 6 A/AA in the Ted Brill Great 8 Hockey tournament. After the Ted Brill tournament I was picked to represent the Minnesota Seniors in the CCM NIT tournament.  I have been featured in the Breakdown Sports U.S.A. hockey magazine for Minnesota high school hockey my junior and senior year.
I will be playing for the Brookings Blizzard in the NAHL for the 2015-2016 hockey season for coach Dan Daikawa. I am very excited to start the season as in Brookings.
I take school very seriously and I always put it first. I have a 3.39 GPA and a 23 on my ACT. I have taken AP Calculus as a junior and I have taken Honors Physics and I am taking AP Macroeconomics and AP Stats this semester as a senior in high school.
I train in the offseason with my goalie coach Dave Rogalski at Impact hockey camp. I am a leader on and off the ice and am always encouraging people to do their best. I always try my hardest whether it be in a game or in practice. Every time I step onto the ice I give it my all and do what ever it takes to get better.
