I attended my first college hockey game when I was two weeks old. My mom says I slept thru the entire game; goal horns and all. When I was four years old, I attended a skate with the team after a local junior hockey game. This is where I learned to skate; blueline to blueline with my favorite player. Since then, I have put in countless hours of practice, training and games which have brought me to where I am today, starting for my high school varsity hockey team in Moorhead, Minnesota. As I finish my sophomore year, I am thinking about my future and while my goal is to continue to grow in my hockey journey and play for a college at the highest level possible, I also want to grow and be challenged academically. I currently have a 3.96 Cumulative GPA and am planning to study Exercise Science & Business at a top university.
When I am on the ice, I play smart hockey and have great vision. My strengths as a defender are my effective breakout passes, physical play in the corners, accurate shots on net and strong penalty kill. I also work hard to support my goalie and put my body on the line to block shots. I strengthen my team by working hard, being dependable and consistent, and supporting my teammates on and off the ice. My specialty is being a stay-at-home defenseman, where I work to give my team every chance to win by providing excellent defensive coverage.
When I am not on the ice, I spend two to three days per week training at ETS Performance to continue my speed & strength development. In addition to my love of hockey, I excel as a goalie for Moorhead High School’s varsity lacrosse team. Outside of sports, my favorite way to relax is at my grandpa’s lake place where I can spend time with family, enjoy bonfires and fish for hours.
I pride myself on being a dedicated and driven person, who is both coachable and adaptable. I appreciate feedback and opportunities to continuously improve my game. I strengthen each team I play on by being a consistent and strong defenseman and will be a great asset to teams at the college level and beyond. I look forward to opportunities to continue to grow in my hockey career.
