Personal Statement

My name is Wyatt Demers. I am currently a freshman at Bedford high school in Bedford, New Hampshire. Just as soon as I started playing hockey, I decided that I wanted to play college hockey, and I have worked hard to be the best goalie and best person that I can be in hopes of someday making it.

Socially, I feel like I am a good guy to have on any team. I have been told that I am "motivated", "a good leader", and I "always have a smile on [my] face". I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of great coaches, and have learned a lot about character as well as hockey from them. I've been told by both peers and adults that I am great to be around, and I am always positive no matter the situation.

In hockey, I am a great athlete. I always work hard and try to get better, but make sure to have fun at the same time. Coaches say that I am very coachable, and I try to get the most out of every practice. Working with a lot of coaches has helped me integrate a lot of unique parts to my game, so I always know what to do. I learn a lot, and I can learn things pretty quickly. I have worked with many coaches, so I have learned a lot in total from them, so I understand techniques and the game itself well.

In school, I work just as hard. I do my best to turn in assignments on time and done well. I get good grades, and I am always trying to learn more. My teachers like how I always ask questions so I understand things the best I can, and my teachers also say that it makes it easier to teach. I am especially good in math, and hope to stick with math related subjects (specifically engineering) through college.
