Personal Statement
I am a post-graduate student at Phillips Exeter Academy taking college level courses. I have just completed my second trimester at Phillips Exeter with Honors. My GPA is a 9.4 out of 11. I have had a smooth transition from public high school to the rigorous academic standards of Phillips Exeter. During my hockey debut at PEA on Nov. 25, 2020 against Phillips Andover, I scored during my first shift. During our second PEA v Andover game, I scored twice. I have attached complete video from both games. (Note: they were unofficial games due to COVID-19 restrictions). I will update with more video when possible. I will be playing playing golf for PEA during the spring season.
Last year I graduated from my public high school (Exeter High School) with a 3.5/ 4.33 GPA in Honors and AP classes (my weighted GPA is a 4.9/6.33). My SAT Superscore is a 1300. I was within the top twenty percent of my class at EHS. I earned certificates for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA during the hockey season and, as a senior at Exeter High School (NH's Division 1 league), I was named Co-MVP. I also played New Hampshire Avalanche AAA Tier 1 split season. My most recent season, I a played for the Northern Cyclones U18 Split and Phillips Exeter Academy as a Post Graduate.
As a freshman at EHS I had the best +\- on the team. As a sophomore I lead the team in both power play goals and assists and earned the Thayer Coaches award for being an "outstanding performer with low penalty minutes and dependability." As a freshman, sophomore and junior year, I was a starter on some of the best lines in the state. As a junior I was dubbed by my coach as his "Swiss Army Knife" because he used me for almost every power play and penalty kill. With the New Hampshire Avalanche in the E9 Prep Showcase Division we went to Tier II Nationals in Plano Texas in 2019 and were to go to Nationals in Los Angeles, California in 2020 but it was cancelled due to COVID 19
I have been an active in my community volunteering for the Special Olympics. I also worked part-time for an elderly assisted living home called Riverwoods and have served as an on-ice counselor at two hockey camps. Presently, I work for the Golf Club of New England. In my few moments of downtime, I enjoy spending time with my brother (who is a 2004 AAA defenseman) on our sport court shooting pucks and playing roller hockey or pickup basketball. I also like to spend time with my grandparents at their camp on Lake Winnipesaukee.
My personal values, work ethic, dedication to team success above all else, and natural play-making ability set me apart. Every coach I have had has remarked about my quick learning curve, coachability, and positive team attitude. I am looking to play college hockey at mid-size Division I or Division III college or university while studying Economics, Finance or Engineering.
