My last name is pronounced "you-goal-nick" and I’m a 16-year-old prep-school junior at Hoosac in upstate New York. Born in Los Angeles, I grew up in the heart of West Hollywood playing AAA hockey for the California Golden Bears. I have since moved east to compete in NEPSAC in pursuit of my goal to play Division hockey in college and I’m committed to putting in the hard work and dedication required to achieve that dream.
On the ice, I’m a reliable, consistent safety defenseman who demonstrates a leadership style of "showing" by example over "telling." My receptive personality makes me easy to coach, play alongside and get along with as a teammate. I pride myself on remaining calm and focused allowing me to consistently perform under pressure and bring my best effort to every shift.
Off the ice, I maintain rigorous physical training while focusing on academic excellence. At Hoosac, I'm an honors student continuously striving for a 4.0+ GPA, pushing myself with AP classes and leaning on my love of art and science to improve mental focus and carve out a future path of study for college. I also remain dedicated to supporting my community through research, writing and online influence. I’m eager to contribute to a school, community and hockey program that values these qualities and is looking for a defenseman who is not only skilled and versatile but is also a dedicated team player with a strong desire to win and succeed.
