Personal Statement
I began to play house league at 5 years old with 10 year old kids. My dad always pushed me to the best of my ability (in a good way). I skated mainly 4-5 times a week until I was able to tryout for my first year of travel hockey with the Long Beach Eagles. My first year I played with the '00 age group.
Hockey allows me to release stress and anger out on the ice. Training off the ice makes me feel better than everyone on earth. I feel stronger, smarter, and more confident every time I play and train. Hockey gives me another road to look down. My coach when I first went to the Jr. Islanders would always tell me "every time you come to the rink you have to worry about yourself, only. no one else. Not your mom, dad, brothers, etc. Whatever is on your mind before you enter the rink you have to erase it". Whenever i feel down or see someone else down i think back to what he said to me whether it may be on or off ice.
I play left/right wing for the PAL Jr. Islanders 16U National team in Long Island, New York. I wear #97 and I am the assistant captain. Being a leader on a team, you need to have passion and drive for your teammates and yourself not just yourself. When you walk in the rink every thing besides hockey is washed away for the hour or two hours practice and off ice is. Then you may resume to the outside world.
On and off the ice I compete to display the best of my ability. I work to be the best and continue to the best. i like to lead my team by example with class and to win and lose as a team. Although i simply do not like losing, showing respect is always how i will display myself when doing so. I am here to work as hard as i do on and off the ice, as I will in the classroom. I am here to work and fulfill my dreams since i was a toddler.
I am a quick puck handler with a hard snap and slap shot. Not the biggest goal scorer but I like to create on the perimeter of the offensive zone and then cause pressure on the inside of the slot with my playmaking ability. Quick hands with the puck and always looking for the extra passer open man when in trouble.
