Hello, my name is Ethan Lin. Hockey has been a part of my life since the age of 8. Over the course of 8 years, the sport has shaped my overall character. Like in life, hockey has its ups and downs and it has taught me to never give up when things get difficult. I still remember when my parents signed me up for the “Rangers learn to play” session at City Ice Pavilion. From there I joined the house league and after 2 years I made the transition to goalie. I’ve been playing AA hockey since peewee minors.
Ever since a young age I’ve always been calm and collected during an important game or tense situation. Tranquility is a trait that I obtain and I feel that it has helped me throughout my time as a goaltender because it translates into making smart and fast decisions. Outside of hockey, I find enjoyment in powerlifting. I believe that the strength I’ve developed in the gym has transitioned to my ability to go side to side and recover to my feet quickly. I am working towards playing hockey at the collegiate level and hoping to continue my passion with hockey.
