My collegiate goals include continuing to play as an ice hockey goalie at a competitive level, succeeding academically and enjoying the overall college experience making many new and fun memories along the way. My love of hockey dates back to when I started playing at age 5. I was hooked from the first time I put on my skates and hit the ice. I would be an asset to the team because of my passion for the game, consistent /reliable performance, high level of work ethic as well as my presence in the locker room. I have been told by coaches that I present with an even, calm and confident demeanor, but am also a fun guy to be around in the locker room. I get along with coaches and teammates easily and support and inspire my teammates to work smart and work together.
I have also had the privilege of volunteering at coaching younger goalies during goalie clinics for the Rye Rangers assisting professional goalie instructors from the likes of ProCrease Goaltending and Sentinel Goalie Consultants. This experience has been beneficial in many ways, but specifically, it helped me to develop the ability to refocus a young person's frustrations/negative self-talk towards a more positive, goal oriented mind-set. I have applied this very useful skill in both sports-related and life-related events in general.
I am also a 2 sport player at my high school with the other sport being LAX. I was a starter on the Varsity team as a LSM and a defensemen when I was a Freshman and continue to play. I have found that being a multi-sport player allows me to maximize how I train/strengthen my body.
Academically, my strengths/interests include Business, Math and Music Production.
Given the opportunity, I am both willing and able to continue to put forward my best efforts and contribute to the overall success of my team.
