Ryan Campbell '14 Recruiting Profile

I am a strong skater with a hard shot but what I love most is "dangling", assets that I have acquired while attending school at the Maritime Hockey Academy (grades 7, 8, 9) skating alongside the likes of Nathan McKinnon and Matthew Highmore. In addition to wing, I often played defence in the past. Through hard work and practice on & off the ice I have accomplished my short term goals of skipping Midget and playing a full season of Junior hockey at age sixteen.

UPDATE (17 Jan 2016): Since my back injury over a year and a half ago at Junior A tryouts (Pictou County Crushers) in August 2014 when I had to give up hockey, I have returned to hockey with a 100% back. Since then, I have managed to get all my necessary basic qualifications for Army Reserves as a Medic and also successfully completed a semester at Dalhousie University (Science). I am now 6' 5" and 240lbs. I hope to help my new team the Dartmouth Jaguars reach the Maritime North Jr Championships (we are currently in 1st place) where hopefully I can also showcase my skills. Dad should get some videos of me soon and FINALLY get a proper video profile posted.

My hobbies include PS3/PS4 video games and reading fiction books. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as paint ball, zip lining, street hockey (2x Play On! champion). I am a good student maintaining an 85+ average, my strengths are math and sciences. NOTE: My marks last year (2012-13) took a drastic drop as my schedule with 4 advanced classes (Eng, Math11, Math 12, Chem & Physics) was too intensive for my first year playing Junior hockey as a 16yr old. My last year of High School will see my marks come back up into the 85 range.
