I have two goals for college: to get a good education and play competitive hockey at the same time.
Last season, I double rostered, My free time was spent working as a skate guard at our town’s outdoor ice rink. I also taught skate lessons to elementary school age kids.
During the spring sports season, I was a starting setter for Waterloo Oxfords Varsity Men's Volleyball team, in addition to playing spring hockey. With all of that, I still maintained my grades. Academics are as important to me as athletics, and I also understand the need for good time management.
I haven’t been on some winning teams in the past. I knew I would have to work harder in games to try and keep my teammates motivated. Keeping a positive attitude going into every game was important, and I reminded my teammates that every team was beatable, and a win was eventually going to happen.
