I am focused on my future endeavors and hope to be able to play the highest level of competitive hockey I can while in school and possibly obtain a scholarship in doing so. I recently graduated achieving the Ontario Scholar Designation and Award, the Honor Roll the last 4 years and designated as Specialist High Skills Major in Sport Management by completing the Hockey Canada Skills Academy through St. Theresa's Catholic School to further sharpen my player and coaching skills and academics while in school and during class. My hard work ethic has resulted in above average grades throughout in hopes of a bright path forward to possibly achieve or land a spot with a professional hockey organization either as a player or in Sports Management realm of hockey. I have always been a team player, have stepped up to be a team leader and work hard each time I am on the ice. I am easily adaptable and coachable, having been a center/forward for most of my life then switching to Defense in 2018 where I have found my niche as a hard working hard hitting defenseman that stops the opposing player from advancing, blocking shots and unloading fast hard shots from the point. I am known for my strength and shots from the blue line that almost always are on point landing in front of the net assisting my team mates with potting those extra goals. This year my coach has relied on me to be a 2 way player as an effective as a defensive power forward and a solid physical defenseman that can also move the puck and create offense. I am a hard working player that can easily pivot and play both positions as required. My size and skill allowed me to play up a level my last 2 years of Minor Hockey making the transition to Junior level hockey playing with older faster players which pushed me harder to embrace change as I learn and grow as a player and person. I do not give up no matter how hard the situation is or what my parents, coach, school or employer asks of me. I have been exposed and grown up with professional players living in our home having been a billet family for over 12 years and know what it takes to be a team player, and understand the importance of combining my education and love for the game and what it take to be successful in both arenas. My education, goals and aspirations are to be able to use my ability as a hockey player, my experience and knowledge of player statistics and to combine the both to be a successful professional scout, sports athlete manager or work with professional sports team. I am being mentored by Coach Kent Lewis of the OJHL Wellington Dukes and Brian MacKenzie in all aspects of Sport Management at the OJHL level of their hockey program.
I am currently enjoying a big winning season with my team the Northumberland Stars as we finished Conference Champions in our division. In the last 2 years I've been invited and attended The TEP Tournament, The Carnavale both in Toronto, ON; The Show Detroit AAA Tournament in Michigan with our team winning the Championship title; the Boston Jr. Bruins NCDC camp, the College Showcase at Adrian College Michigan, Junior A Knights of Meaford and also attended the College Showcase in Kingston Ontario. In 2023 was selected for the U17AAA Team to attend the International Invite Bauer World Cup tournament in April 2023 where we played some great hockey and had the experience of a lifetime to play hockey in Europe. While I continue to focus on my skills to better my hockey and education, I am excited and looking forward to continuing to develop with the right college or university team. I look forward to being able to continue to learn new things, play better, smarter, faster and stronger and to be able to play the highest competitive level of hockey I can while continuing my education in college or university.
