I have been playing hockey since I was about 5 years old. From the first time I stepped on the ice, I knew that I wanted to take my hockey career as far as I could go. Playing at the collegiate level is something I am very excited and passionate about, and I know that it will not only fulfill my hockey aspirations but also provide me with an outstanding education.
I have spent countless hours on an off the ice to further develop my hockey skills. My strongest attributes on the ice are my passion for the sport, skating skills, hockey IQ, and defensive mindset. I am a team player and like to lead by example and encourage my teammates on an off the ice. I am a coachable player, and willing to make the adjustments to my game to develop and excel. Since Covid, I have worked extremely hard in the gym to build muscle and cardio endurance. This dedication made a huge difference on the ice, and I believe that my work ethic is unlike anything you will find in other recruits. I am willing to give 100% at all times to accomplish my goals, as well as, help my team succeed.
Hockey is my passion, but I have also played many sports that have helped with my athleticism. I have played baseball, basketball, track and field, cross country running, ball hockey, and golf. Playing these sports along with the many hours a week in the gym have allowed me to grow and develop as an athlete.
As busy as I am playing on my AAA hockey team, I have managed to maintain a 95% average in high school. In my grade 9 year, I received an Honour Roll Award for having an average over 80%, as well as, a Distinction award for having an average over 90%. I was also one of four students in my high school to receive the Hockey Award. My hockey team commitments, working part time at Sport Check, volunteering hours to referee small tournaments in my area keep me busy, but my education is important to me, and I work hard every semester to obtain the best possible marks I can.
I am looking to attend a college in Canada or the United States where I can excel academically, and as a member of a hockey team. I am open to all divisions, but ultimately would like to find the right college where I can compete at the highest level of hockey. I know if given the chance, you will see that I stand out from other recruits because of my dedication and work ethic. I am willing to go above and beyond to contribute to the teams success, as well as, achieve my personal goal of playing collegiate hockey.
