I currently am playing on my high schools senior (gr. 11/12) team as a sophomore (gr. 10). On the ice I push everyone including myself to be a better player and off the ice I push to be a better person in the community. I take schoolwork very seriously and am striving to be the best person and player I can be on and off the ice and in the workout room as well.
On ice I am very versatile and I'm a very good two-way defender, I can jump up in the rush with the puck and pose as an offensive threat, but I can also play shut down defence against a team's first line. I can score and create chances in the offensive zone which lead to goals or goal scoring oppertunities with my ability to skate so well and to open up the other team's defence in the offensive zone. I have been trusted by almost all of my teams on the special teams units, and I'm also trusted to be on the ice during the last minute of the game. I try to consistently improve my game by asking questions and learning as much as I can by my coaches in practice, during film, or during games too. My work ethic really helps with that and I feel like I help others around me get better too with that.
I am currently in Michael Power St. Joseph's IB Programme, and I get good marks, this program has taught me respect, leadership, how to handle a big work load and also really prepares me for college or university. I take school as serious as possible because I know with good schooling and good grades I can do more things outside of hockey and sports..
