My name is Noah Janeiro, and I am a dedicated and passionate hockey player from Toronto, Ontario. I am currently a grade 9 student at Michael Power-St. Joseph High School, where I am committed to both my athletic and academic growth. As I approach my college decision, I am eager to find a school that offers the perfect balance of strong academics and competitive athletics, and I believe that playing hockey at the collegiate level would provide me with the ideal platform to further develop as both a student and an athlete.
I have been playing hockey for over 10 years, and throughout my career, I have honed my skills as a defenceman on both the left and right side, focusing on my skating, stickhandling, decision making and leadership skills. I have had the privilege of competing at the AAA level once rep hockey began, with my most recent team for the past 5 years being the assistant captain of the Credit River Capitals, as well as my Varsity High School hockey team; which has allowed me to grow and mature in both skill and mindset. I am highly competitive, committed to improving every day, and a strong team player as well as a team leader who strives to lead by example on and off the ice.
Throughout my hockey journey, I’ve learned the value of hard work, discipline, and resilience. Whether facing adversity on and off the ice or balancing demanding academic schedules, I always strive to give my best effort and maintain a positive, focused attitude. I believe these qualities will allow me to contribute positively to a college hockey program and thrive in a challenging collegiate environment.
Off the ice, I am committed to my academic success, maintaining an 88% Average currently while taking all Advanced level classes as part of the IB program and pursuing a career in Finance or perhaps sports medicine as I prepare for my future beyond hockey. I am confident that my work ethic and passion for both academics and athletics will help me succeed as a student-athlete at the collegiate level.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to a college hockey program, compete at a high level, and grow both as a player and a person. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can contribute to your team.
Sincerely,
Noah Janeiro
