First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jarett Cameron Dewbury. Hockey has always been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and my goal is to continue playing for as long as I possibly can. I am currently playing for the London Junior Knights Bantam AAA team, and have been playing for the organization at the AAA level for the past 6 years. My ultimate goal is to make it pro, but before that, to play in the NCAA for a Division 1 team, and potentially win an NCAA Championship.
I see myself as a very humble, mature, and intelligent person, both on and off the ice, allowing me to be a leader and role model to those around me, which sets me apart from other recruits my age. This has allowed me to be voted captain by teammates for my given team, voted President by teachers and principals of student council at my school, and receiving the Ontario Principle Council Award for leadership at school. I feel this is not only beneficial to myself, but as well to my coaches and teammates, as it allows me to be very coachable, and a leader for my team.
Academics in school are important to me, as I always look for ways to further expand my knowledge in all aspects, as well as to challenge myself. Time managing between activities allows me to maintain a 4.0GPA, while still being able to train and work on my game on and off of the ice.
Within my game on the ice, I see myself as a very skilled individual, especially for my size, but I always look for ways to improve my game in the small areas. I am not afraid of hard work, as I always give it 200% whether it be in a game, off ice training, or at school. Some personal accomplishments throughout my career include: Voted to the Alliance All-Star team this year, highest +/- on my team and Tournament MVP for the Silver Stick. In my opinion, these highlights of my career so far show all of the hard work and dedication I give to the game.
