Ryan Fritz '19 Recruiting Profile

Hockey is a huge part of my life and has been since I was four years old. I have always had dreams of pursuing hockey at the highest level possible. I recognized at a young age, that these dreams would not be achievable without dedication and hard work, therefore I have spent many years training and devoting my time to the sport that I love.

I tend to take on leadership roles on the teams I play on. I like to encourage and help other players because I realize the success of a team cannot be achieved by only one player. I am coachable and don't mind receiving criticism because I know it will help me improve and develop as a player. I also understand I have to balance my academics along with my athletic lifestyle.

I volunteer to help coaches of other sports teams with running drills during practices. I also volunteer in my community at the Hockey Training Academy where I help younger athletes learn the basic fundamentals/skills to play competitive hockey. In addition, every summer I enjoy volunteering at the local church where I am a counsellor during their day camp (Vacation Bible School).

At the Collegiate Level, I would like to attend a school that will push me academically and athletically. I am open to opportunities from any school, but my preference is to attend a school with a strong hockey program that will also assist me in pursuing my goals.

I hope to represent my family well as they have been an amazing support system while I have pursued my dreams.
