I am the first member of my family to play hockey. I recall passing local games at the age of 6 and feeling completely captivated by the intensity and fast-paced nature of the sport. With some persistence, I enrolled in hockey the following year and I have loved it since! Naturally, being new to hockey my family and I had our fair share of challenges: navigating the sport, receiving skepticism from others, facing the risk of being cut, and adapting to new teams. However, I view setbacks as opportunities for growth.
What sets me apart, is that I lead by example. Hockey has allowed me to cultivate a level of calmness and humbleness that transcends the ice. I have been described as a player who has a strong ability to read the game, takes instruction well, and is open to criticism. Needless to say, I am proud of how far I have come along. My recent achievements, of earning game MVP several times and Most Improved Player of the year on Markham Waxers AAA team, is a testament to my ability to push mental and physical limits through hard work and self-discipline. Alongside my intense training schedules, I’ve learned to balance academics, socials, and other hobbies. My academic goals include obtaining a degree in business and receiving a well-rounded education.
I am eager to learn and reach my full potential with the strong teams and professional coaches of the NCAA. I am committed to going the extra mile for both academics and sports, as I am striving for excellence in both areas.
