My name is Joel Mongeon and I would like to pursue my hockey career in an NCAA program. To begin, as a hockey player, I consider myself a great fluid skater who uses speed and quick reactions to escape my opponents. Also, I believe that I am a strategic player who anticipates extremely well. My coaches have always said that I am an effective positional player with an active stick to close down players. What sets me apart from another hockey player is that I have the skills and the passion required to be successful. To add, academically, I consider myself a conscientious student. Even with high grades, an 96% average which prorates to a 4.0 GPA, I always take the time to complete my school work before heading out on an activity which shows my will to learn. Also, I'm a well-rounded student and I work hard in every class. Furthermore, as a person, I've been described as a hard worker on the ice, at school or in the gym and characterized as a determined, respectful and passionate young man. I want to pursue a college hockey career because I believe the college route will develop me as a person and as a hockey player. There are still aspects in my game that I believe I can improve and I know with the great coaching offered in college hockey, it will give me the best chance to develop in the best hockey player I can. To add, it would be a one of a kind experience to play in a conference playoff championship and maybe be part of the Frozen Four Tournament and an exciting college hockey crowd.
